Starstruck by Satur

Ka Satur is finally free! Albeit temporarily. But what the heck, it's still a victory. On the right is a snapshot of him taken a few hours after his release, during the solidarity night of the Week of Rice Action 2007 Philippines forum on the environmental, health, and economic effects of genetically-engineered rice. S.O. dropped by to thank the delegates, partake of the modest (rice-based) dinner, and give a speech on the political situation. He must have surely been dead tired after his release, but this definitely did not show. His "guest appearance" that evening was a rousing way to cap the afternoon-long forum.

Ka Satur, understandably, did not stay long enough for the cultural presentations by the participants, which lasted long into the night. Had he did, S.O. would have probably been seen learning the community dance taught by the Thai and Cambodian team, listening intently to the Korean delegate's mesmerizing solo rendition of arirang, and (best of all) singing Awit ng Pag-Asa along with the rest of the Filipino participants. Yay!

On the other hand, I do relish the thought that Gloria Arroyo, Norberto Gonzales, and Raul Gonzales will be starting their own respective Holy Weeks by seeing photographs and stories on Ka Satur splashed all over the front pages and radio shows. And the thought that (oh goody!) S.O's release and Bayan Muna's survey-topping sprees came just in time for GMA's 60th birthday. Serves them right for being such evil, little pests.
